Blurb: “AMID THE SWIRLING MISTS AND POWERFUL MAGIC OF MEDIEVAL IRELAND...
When he was born, it was prophesized that Aonghus, son of Orba Mac Doelta, would by a single cast of his spear drive his people from their homeland. To stay this terrible event, a druid laid a geas upon him. Aonghus must never touch a spear, either in hunting or in combat.
Yet Fate will out. Caught in the bloodmist — the battle-fury - he raises a spear in the name of Justice - and the prophecy is fulfilled.
The crows of the Morrigu, goddess of battle, fly croaking overhead...
Author's Note: The story of Bloodmist is based on previously untranslated material from Irish mythology. Never fully translated or retold in English, "Inndarba inna nDési — the Expulsion of the Desi" is unknown outside of academic circles. I have taken as my basic source text the version appearing in Annála Rioghachta Éireann, a 17th-century copy of earlier books known in English as "Annals of the Four Masters."
