G. Wells, first published in 1895 and later directly adapted into at least two feature films of the same name, as well as two television versions, and a large number of comic book adaptations. It indirectly inspired many more works of fiction in all media. This 38,000 word novella is generally credited with the popularization of the concept of time travel using a vehicle that allows an operator to travel purposefully and selectively. The term \"time machine\", coined by Wells, is now universally used to refer to such a vehicle. Wells introduces an early example of the Dying Earth subgenre as well.\u003c\/span\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Baronet Books","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":42479276097778,"sku":null,"price":9.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0522\/7685\/4977\/products\/image_ee3a98c2-94f5-4d7a-ae3f-69f34fd3ea94.jpg?v=1645336353","url":"https:\/\/postmarkedfromthestars.com\/products\/the-time-machine-h-g-wells-1971-berkley-highlands-books-vintage-paperback","provider":"Postmarked from the Stars","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
